The AT Virology Lab recently participated in Mahidol University's Department of Microbiology Open House. The event provided a platform for the lab members to showcase their work to groups of undergraduate students.
One of the key highlights of the lab's presentation was its ongoing efforts in testing the efficacy of virus vaccines. The lab has been evaluating various vaccine candidates, including those targeting Sars-CoV-2.
In addition to vaccine research, the AT Virology Lab also presented its efforts in discovering anti-viral compounds. With the emergence of viral threats and the need for effective treatments, the lab's work in identifying novel compounds holds great promise for the future of antiviral therapies.
Furthermore, the lab showcased its ongoing work, using Next-generation sequencing (NGS) in various applications: detecting unknown viral pathogens from clinical samples, determining Sars-CoV-2 household transmission, and characterizing tick virome.
