Mahidol University's AT virology lab and CENMIG - organized a specialized workshop on sequencing SARS-CoV-2 using Oxford Nanopore Technology. The event saw the participation of researchers from Chiang Mai University, marking a significant step in the ongoing Verdi Project collaboration between the two institutions.
The workshop aimed to equip researchers with both wet lab and dry lab skills. Participants were provided with hands-on training on the operation of nanopore sequencing devices, data analysis techniques, and interpretation of results specific to SARS-CoV-2 genome sequencing.
The Verdi Project, which focuses on studying the genomic diversity and evolution of SARS-CoV-2 across the globe stands to benefit from this workshop. By enhancing the capabilities of researchers from both Mahidol University and Chiang Mai University in nanopore sequencing, the project aims to gain deeper insights into the genetic makeup of the virus and its implications for public health.
