Applied Mathematics and the teaching and mentoring of applied math students is a topic dear to my heart! I am currently (2019-2020) chair of the Applied Math Education Activity Group of SIAM, the Society for Industrial and Applied Math. I was vice-chair in the past. I have also served on organizing committees for that group's conference in 2016, 2018, and the upcoming 2020 one. The 2020 one will be concurrent with the MAA's MathFest, so join us there for lots of exciting talks, posters and discussions!
